The "SPRING BAR" Frame system was created over 35 years ago by a Canadian canvas goods manufacturer, the design was then adapted to Australian Conditions by Snowy River Canvas. Snowy River Canvas was the first Company to utilise this design in an Australian Manufactured Canvas Tent nearly 30 years ago.
Since then the 'ORION' has been manufactured by Grangers Camping world, Camping World, Echo21, Melbourne Canvas & Repairs & Most Recently Tambo Campers. (The 'Orion" specs were also copied by the original American manufacturer in Korea, but because of the returns and Quality concerns, the shipment was eventually dumped at the tip}
The "ORION" range of tents was sold previously through many Camping goods retailers , although the retailer may have changed the name of the tents to their own. Some of these tent are the 'Signature" series and have a Bill Ruyter signature on them. Bill has been a pioneer of Canvas tent manufacturing in Australia with many of his designs being adopted by the mainstream tent manufacturing industry, so you can be assured that when you purchase an "ORION" tent you a buying a product that has sold over 3500 units with no returns, you are buying a tent that has has the original design continually improved on for over the last 30 years, never compromised on quality with Chinese units flooding the market, other Manufactures are trying to copy the springbar design but always fall short because they do not have the 30+ years of product development with this design, make no mistake this is the original springbar tent in Australia. The current crop of copies are not even close to the Quality of canvas used in our 'Orion" tents, details of which are available on request, along with other design differences that create a tent that will last.
The '"ORION" Tents have been stitched together by arguably the best Industrial Sewing machinists in Australia and Bill has personally overseen everyone of the 3500+ Sold to date.
