This auction is for a fairly new Zpacks Altaplex Cuben Fibre tent in good condition. I have repaired some damage (as seen in the picture) caused by a branch in high winds that punctured the tent in a small area of the tent, I've used Zpacks cuben fibre seam / repair tape so the tent show now stronger than it was before. I will include a length of this repair tape which has a fantastic adhesive that I've never seen separate. The tent is designed for tall and/or wide people or those who like a bit of space (especially if you want all your gear in your tent) as a one man person tent so it's spacious and thank's to the height (which sheds snow well) there's plenty of room to sit up.It comes with Lineloc 3 cord adjusters and 2 mm Z-Line dyneema guy cord attached but these are removeable and can be swapped for the 1.2 mm Z-Line dyneema cord and Micro Line Loc Guyline Adjusters I am selling on other auctions. The tent requires one pole (trekking pole or dedicated tent pole) of at least 147 cm length. Most trekking poles will probably be too short so I am selling a Locus Gear Carbon Fibre Pole Extender on a separate auction.Retails for AU $793, plus shipping from the US adds up to AU $853.Auction ContentsZpacks Altaplex Cuben Fibre TentZpacks Altaplex Cuben Fibre Stuff SackZpacks Seam / Repair Tape, 60cmItem DescriptionSets up with a single trekking pole adjusted to around 147 - 152 cmSets up with a minimum of 6 stakes, 10 stakes are recommended in windy conditionsEither of the storm doors can be opened or closed independently. Leave them open on nice nights for a breeze and great views. Close the upwind door to block cold wind, or close both for 360° rain protection. The doors are closed with custom made metal hooksThe Altaplex has steeper walls which shed snow and drain condensation a little better than less sloped walls. This tent has enough headroom to be pitched lower to the ground to block more wind, dust, or snow when neededThere is screen between the bathtub floor and the walls at the ends of the tarp. An elastic cord keeps the bathtub elevated ensuring the screen slopes downwards away from the bathtub. Any condensation will run down the walls and out through the downward sloping screen, rather than onto the floorThe tarp overhangs the bathtub floor by 12 cm. In calm rain or under wet trees the doors can be left open for air flow without water dripping on the floor space. In almost all conditions at least one downwind door can be left open for air. For even better rain protection with a door open, use the included clips to pull the screen door back away from the rain sprayA Rainbow zipper allows you to get in our out the left or right side of the tent and gives you access to the vestibule area. The doorway is tall for easy entryThis tent has a solid, sewn in 20 cm tall bathtub floor. The bathtub floor is a rectangle 230 x 91 cm, plenty of space for one taller person to stretch out, or for an average sized person plus gear. You can use a full length wide width sleeping pad with room to spareThis tent is a good choice for a hiker up to about 200cm. If you need extra space try propping up the side guylines for even more headroomThe bathtub floor has a Mesh Pocket. at both ends for storing small items and measures 20 x 20 cmA separate groundsheet is not required for this shelter. The floor material is reasonably durable, and all Dyneema Composite Fabric (the new name for cuben fibre) gear can be easily patched in the field with repair tapeAll of Zpacks tents do pretty well in the wind. The material can handle high wind loads. As long as your stakes stay in the ground (use rocks if available) your tent will stay standing. DCF is not a particularly noisy fabric, however almost any tent will make a little noise in the windTent Material: 0.51 ounce / square yard Cuben FibreGroundsheet Material: 1.0 ounce / square yard Cuben FibreFlyscreen: 0.7 ounce / square yard meshTent Weight: 498g (includes lineloc 3 adjusters / guylines)Please Read Before Bidding Or Asking A QuestionThe item photo(s) may be stock images but essentially identical to the item you will receive, they may include other items not included in the auction for illustrative purposes, you will receive only the items listed under auction contents. Payment is required within 48 hours of the auction closing, if you are unable to do so you must let me know in advance of the auction closing to negotiate a reasonable timescale for payment. Without prior arrangement if you have not paid after 5 days then I will unfortunately have to report non payment to eBay.If you wish to bid on multiple items then I will combine postage where possible. If you win multiple items it will be quicker to go ahead and pay for the items and I will refund you as warranted, sometimes it's obvious how much it will cost but I may not always know till I'm at the post office. The auction lists a handling time of two business days, I normally post things in or less than one business day.I love feedback and would request that you leave feedback when you receive the item and are happy with it and I will reciprocate appropriately. I rarely have issues with transactions (and when I do it's usually because people didn't read the description) but in the unlikely event you are dissatisfied please contact me and allow me to respond before leaving feedback.
