CUSTOM ENGRAVED VINTAGE FIRE АХЕ WITH CARVED HANDLE AND LEATHER SHEATH BLADE I reshaped and restored the blade to this beautiful vintage Fire Axe style, I also sharpened it up, so it’s  extremely sharp - as always handle with care!

On the other side I engraved Viking style ornament and border along the edge.
The blade is very tough. 
The blade had normal wear/tear from normal usage, I cleaned up some of it, but didn’t want to remove the ‘age’ from the blade, so I left most of it
for a nice Vintage look and feel.  WEDGE I used both - a solid wood wedge with epoxy and a metal wedge for setting the head.
It has a very tight and beautiful fit.
SHEATH I hand-crafted the Sheath out of Premium Leather, custom fitted specifically for this Fire Axe. 
An image of a mountain and birds make a nice complement to the whole tool.
The Sheath protects you from accidental cuts and makes it safer during handling. HANDLE The handle is custom carved out of one piece of solid Black Locust (Acacia). 
Acacia is premium, very hard wood and perfect for these kinds of tools.
A friendly BEAR is carved out on both sides of the handle along with his tracks.
On the end of the handle I carved out an Oak leaf with acorns.
I gave extra layers of varnish for extra protection on both the Bear and oakleaf.

You will be proud to own this kind of masterpiece! I hand sanded the handle to a very nice, smooth texture.The handle has a very comfortable smooth curve design and it fits perfectly in adult hand. A deep layer of stain was applied to give the hatchet a beautiful darker look. 
In addition, I applied two separate layers (36hrs+ between the coats) of professional grade Behlen Rockhard Urethane Varnish. This can be great for hiking, camping, collection or decor.
