I hand engraved beautiful bear on one side and scrolls on both sides.
Bulino type of engraving was used to fill the background around the bear.
This is quality deep engraving and NOT etching or laser engraved on a machine.
This kind of high end engraving performed on Guns. It looks really nice. The handle nicely matches the blade.
While cleaning and giving a polish to this blade, you might find one or two spots of aged marks.
Most of it is polished to very bright, shiny condition.
The "Norlund" mark is the original stamp. By making this purchase you are taking full responsibility for proper and safe handling. 
I am not responsible for any of your accidents. WEDGE I used a solid wood wedge with epoxy for setting the head.
It has a very tight and beautiful fit.
SHEATH I hand-crafted the Sheath out of Premium Leather, custom fitted specifically for this axe. An image of a mountain and birds make a nice complement to the whole tool. The Sheath protects you from accidental cuts and makes it safer during handling. HANDLE The handle is custom carved out of one piece of solid Black Locust (Acacia).
Acacia is premium, very hard wood and perfect for these kinds of tools.
A friendly BEAR is carved out on both sides of the handle.
I oil painted the bear and gave extra layers of varnish for extra protection.

I hand sanded the handle to a very nice, smooth texture.The handle has a very comfortable grip design and it fits perfectly in adult hand. Couple layers of stain were applied to give the hatchet a beautiful look.
In addition, I applied two separate layers of professional grade Behlen Rockhard Urethane Varnish. This can be great for hiking, camping, collection.
