Please scroll down for lots more photos  An antique late 19th / early 20th century campaign / travelling compact spirit stove and pan set in it's original leather case, made by A Barrett & Sons of Piccadilly, London, and most probably purchased by a military officer as a campaign piece, and dating to between 1878 and 1910.The stove is housed in it's original cylindrical leather case with a leather hinged lid and strap / buckle fastening. The interior of the lid is gilt blocked 'A Barrett & Sons / 63 & 64 Piccadilly, London' (Barrett operated from this address circa 1878 - 1910).The nesting set is all contained within the pan and consists of a copper pan and lid with silver plate interior (the pan with an anti-clockwise screw in ebony handle), a copper stove with wick burner tube & screw on cap, a copper ring shaped spirit flask with screw cap, and a copper openwork pan stand. The pan has a recessed bottom, so sits securely on the stand - please see all photos and click to enlarge. Size : The case approx 4" / 10.2cm tall with a 3 3/8" / 8.5cm diameter. Condition : All in overall good used unpolished antique condition with the expected marks / wear / bumps commensurate with it's age & use. The main points are the lid of the case has staining to the edges, the pan has bumping / bruising to around a third of the bottom (last photo), the burner has a knock to both sides (2nd last photo), and there is tarnish to the silver plate interior (3rd last photo) - please see all photos & click to enlarge.
