CUSTOM MADE VINTAGE VIKING/NORLUND STYLE HATCHET/AXE WITH CARVED HANDLE AND LEATHER SHEATH BLADE I reshaped and restored the blade to this beautiful vintage style, I also sharpened it up, so it’s extremely sharp - as always handle with care!

The blade is very tough, when I was engraving I could feel the quality of the blade. 
The blade had normal wear/tear from normal usage, but after restoring the original look came back. WEDGE I used both - a solid wood wedge with epoxy and a metal wedge for setting the head.
It has a very tight and beautiful fit.
HANDLE The handle is custom carved out of one piece of solid Black Locust (Acacia).
Acacia is premium, very hard wood and perfect for these kinds of tools.
A friendly BEAR is carved out on both sides of the handle along with his tracks.
On the end of the handle I carved out an oakleaf with acorns.
I gave extra layers of varnish for extra protection on both the Bear and oakleaf.

You will be proud to own this kind of masterpiece! I hand sanded the handle to a very nice, smooth texture.The handle has a very comfortable smooth curve design and it fits perfectly in adult hand. Couple layers of stain were applied to give the hatchet a beautiful look.
In addition, I applied two separate layers of professional grade Behlen Rockhard Urethane Varnish. This can be great for hiking, camping, collection.
