Sz 17 Older Beval Butet Saddle, 2 Flap (long). Made in France. The 2 is a long flap, but it's not super long. It should work for anyone between 5'6 and 5'9. I'm the one in the picture, & I'm 5'5 & 125. I would ride in a 1 flap, which is regular. The leather on this saddle is beautiful, but there is cracking on the seat and some cracking on the panels. Please see pictures. It's purely cosmetic, & it just makes the seat feel a tad more rough. Still an incredibly comfortable and well balanced saddle. The back part of the seat had been a lighter color, but it darkened with a few coats of oil. The seat is a beautiful color now (as is the entire saddle). It's a dark Havana brown, not black. The tree is in great condition & the panels are still nice and soft too. They have not hardened at all. This saddle had blocks at one time, but they were removed. You could easily have blocks put back in again. This is a true Sz 17 seat. It doesn't run as big as the newer Sz 17 Butet's. It's also a normal tree for this older model Butet, but it would be considered narrow now. There are certain pads that can lift this saddle up and make it fit more horses, but if your horse has a wide shoulder, I would not recommend this saddle. Additional details about the seat: Though the cracking and discoloration is obvious, the seat isn't split near the pommel, which is what usually causes the foam to show & results in the need for a new seat. You could certainly have the seat replaced, but it isn't necessary. Thanks for looking!!
