CUSTOM VINTAGE VanCamp HATCHET/AXE VIKING - STYLE, CUSTOM ENGRAVED WITH CARVED HANDLE AND LEATHER SHEATH BLADE Hard to find, rare blade is beautifully restored, polished and is extremely sharp - as always handle with care! By making this purchase you are taking full responsibility for proper and safe handling.

On one side of the blade I hand-engraved bear’s head and his two tracks.
On the other side, original VanCamp logo is beautifully embossed.
It looks unbelievably nice. Custom bear carving on the handle nicely matches the blade.
While cleaning and giving a good polish to this blade, I didn't want to remove all aged marks, and left some, very minor marks so it nicely shows an antique look. WEDGE I used both - a solid wood wedge with epoxy and a two metal wedges for setting the head.
It has a very tight and beautiful fit.
SHEATH I hand-crafted the Sheath out of Premium Leather, custom fitted specifically for this axe. An image of a mountain and birds make a nice complement to the whole tool. The Sheath protects you from accidental cuts and makes it safer during handling. HANDLE The handle is custom carved out of one piece of solid Black Locust (Acacia).
Acacia is premium, very hard wood and perfect for these kinds of tools.
A friendly BLACK BEAR is carved out on both sides of the handle along with his tracks.
On the end of the handle I carved out an oakleaf with acorns and gave a touch of
oil paint to reveal the beautiful color's of nature.
I gave extra layers of varnish for extra protection on both the Bear and oakleaf.

You will be proud to own this kind of masterpiece! I hand sanded the handle to a very nice, smooth texture.The handle has a very comfortable smooth curve design and it fits perfectly in adult hand. Couple layers of stain were applied to give the hatchet a beautiful look.
In addition, I applied two separate layers of professional grade Behlen Rockhard Urethane Varnish. This can be great for hiking, camping or collection.
