Description
CUSTOM VINTAGE VIKING STYLE АХЕ/HATCHET CHOPPER WITH CARVED BEAR HANDLE BLADE PLEASE READ THIS! When I was setting the Wedge, the bit cracked. This is a beautiful axe though that can be used FOR DISPLAY ONLY.
This can make a beautiful wall decor for your house, cabin, etc.
I would not chop/split any wood with it as it may crack further.
Also, don't read me wrong - the axe is not falling apart, it's still very strong and solid.
You could probably split small kindling, but I would not take that risk - that's all I'm saying. The blade is beautifully restored and is extremely sharp - as always handle with care!
By making this purchase you are taking full responsibility for proper and safe handling,
as well as acknowledging that you are aware of the crack in the bit.
I am not responsible for any of your accidents. On one side of the blade I hand-engraved bear’s head and his two tracks.
It looks really nice. The handle nicely matches the blade.
While cleaning and giving a polish to this blade, I didn't want to remove all aged marks,
and left some so it nicely shows an antique look.
I engraved custom designs on the bit - it made this a very unique axe. WEDGE I used both - a solid wood wedge with epoxy and a metal wedge for setting the head.
It has a very tight and beautiful fit. (I guess it was too tight. :):) )
HANDLE The handle is custom carved out of one piece of solid Black Locust (Acacia).
Acacia is premium, very hard wood and perfect for these kinds of tools.
A friendly BEAR is carved out on both sides of the handle along with his tracks.
I oil painted the bear and gave extra layers of varnish for extra protection.
Check out the photos - it’s so unique and beautiful.
I get emails of gratitude from customers who purchased similar type of axes/hatchets - complementing and appreciating the workmanship. I hand sanded the handle to a very nice, smooth texture. The handle has a very comfortable grip design and it fits perfectly in adult hand. A layer of stain was rubbed in to to give the hatchet a beautiful look.
Also, I gave slight burning with torch to show darker colors of the wood.
In addition, I applied two separate layers of professional grade Behlen Rockhard Urethane Varnish. SIZE Head Height: 7"
Cutting Edge: 5"
Total Weight with Sheath: 3lbs 8oz
Total Length with handle approximately: 24" These custom, hand-made tools take many hours to make it – so, Thank you for your support! MORE DETAILED PICTURES
You can see the crack on this picture.
