Welcome to a Happy-Campers2 Auction!     Up for auction, and your consideration, is this Coleman Model 206 Kerosene Lantern! From information garnered from the International Coleman Collector Club's book, Guide to Vintage Coleman Products 1900 to 1983, the Model 206 lantern was made from 1976 to 1982. This model uses some of the same parts as the (vent, bail, frame & fount) as the Models 220H, 220J & 220K of the period. A patent for this lantern was issued in 1978 for this model. The patent covers the dropper as well as the form and function of the parts of the preheater cup so as to vaporize the kerosene for preheating and only depositing minimal soot above the globe on the inside of the ventilator during preheating. Also according to the book, kerosene is put in the preheater cup from the fount with a dropper held by a chain and stored in the base rest. This model was made mainly for export as it does not show up in domestic literature of the time period. The Guide also mentions that the original paperwork was printed in several languages noting it was shipped to several different countries. The 206 in this auction appears unfired but it is hard to tell. There is no fuel smell in the fount, but there may be some soot on the outside, not the inside, of the vent. The paint on the fount is a beautiful red and in extra nice condition as is the red vent. The globe is a red letter correct era and made in the USA. This 206 was made in August of 1982 and a Coleman carry case is included in this auction. This model does not come up often on eBay, so bid early and bid often!   Please see photos:
PACKING: We pack your items the same way we would want to receive them. That is, we pack to minimize any chance of breakage. Lanterns are disassembled of globe, vent and bail handle. The globe is bubble wrapped and then placed in a coffee can or separate carton before being placed in the shipping carton. All other pieces are bubble wrapped and all voids are packed with suitable light weight material so all parts are immobilized inside the shipping carton.
