I used this saddle as a show saddle on saddle type horses.  It was originally owned by Heck Harper and used on his trick horse Jody, an American Saddlebred.  Heck is a Northwest famous "singing cowboy" with long term television and radio shows, including several kids programs. There is a YouTube file of his singing.  I maintained and kept the horse fit for many years and purchased the saddle when Heck retired.  I have substantially more information that is in .pdf format I can send if you are interested.  The first Rose Parade he rode in with Jody was 1954.  The saddle is at least that old, probably a bit older.  The red corona roll is the original, the brown roll snaps on a new base which currently is demonstrated with the green roll. F.O Baird became a renown teacher, author, artist, and master craftsman producing leather carvings for a diversified clientele. More information in a .pdf available. Always a WOW! when I came into the ring.
