Gore-Tex Upper Gore-Tex extended comfort footwear is guaranteed to keep you dry and offers an extended range of comfort. Engineered to be used during high output activities, Salomon uses Gore-Tex extended comfort footwear in their adventure, racing and mountain running footwear, where superior waterproof protection and enhanced breathability are essential. Additional to the gore-tex the Salomon X APL Walking Shoes feature a waterproof split suede leather that allows for longer wear and durability enhancing the life expectancy of the shoes. The mid-cut profile provides extra support to the ankle joints, trying its utmost hardest to prevent injuries from occurring whilst on tricky terrain. An abrasion resistant lining sits on top of the upper that allows for excellent breathability and quick drying as well as protects the shoes from rough terrain. A fully waterproof bootie construction adds to the weather protection working to wick moisture and keep your feet dry and comfortable. The bootie constructions link in with the Ortholite sockliner that combines a specific Ortholite foam and an EVA heel cup. Ortholite foam created a cooler, drier, healthier, better cushioned environment under the foot. It will not break down or lose effectiveness over time, whilst the EVA heel cup allows for a better heel support and added cushioning. Protection comes in the form of a rubber toe cap that is the perfect solution for toe protection in mountain and trail environments, whilst a mudguard that is constructed of protective material is placed around the base of the shoes prevents mud from breaking down and destroying the shoes enhancing their life. Last but not least a gusseted tongue is a material bridge that connects the tongue to the upper eliminating debris from entering the shoes, ensuring you stay comfortable and focused all the way. Moulded EVA Midsole The Salomon X Alp Mid LTR GTX Walking Shoes engages the wearer with an injection moulded EVA (IMEVA) midsole compound and a Compression Moulded EVA (CMEVA) midsole compound which actively work to absorb ground impact, reducing pressures upon the underfoot from a clean transition through to midstance. The EVA foam them propels you out with the advanced help from the integrated 3D edging chassis. The 3D edging chassis merged between the midsole and the outsole is a low profile advanced chassis that maximises security, motion control, energy management and push through protection for a high performance, stable and responsive ride. It brings twice more flexibility with the same level of lateral edging. High Traction Contagrip Outsole The Salomon X Alp Mid LTR GTX Walking Shoes features a Contagrip outsole, providing unique traction technology. With a mix of compound, lob geometry and density, it gives the shoes brilliant grip and durability, regardless of the terrain underneath. Utilising different combinations of harder, softer and grippier Contagrip compounds, Salomon's adventure running outsole provide the perfect blend of grip and durability to cover a multitude of terrains. Designed with specifically positions forefoot flex grooves and self-cleaning multi-directional lugs, these outsoles are field tested and proven to dynamically tackle rugged terrains.
