With some practice and good technique, the integrated pump is effective and fast - once the foam inside it has expanded to full size after having been squeezed into it's packaging by Exped! I am 5 foot 6 and initially ordered the medium but changed it for the large, as my toes were hanging over the edge The integrated pump is efficient... taking little effort for 1 minute to produce a thick comfortable mattress that you inflate to a firmness that suits you. The fabric is non slip and "warm" feeling. it is equally easy to deflate and rolls up into the bag that is supplied. there is also a pocket which cnatains a repair kit. it is slightly heavier than a self inflating mat, but for me that is acceptable as it is far more comfortable.
