***NO RESERVE***I bought this with the intent to go back packing but now my young kids want to come with me and they will not sleep in a tent alone without me, so I'm not going to use this hammock anymore. It's pretty cool - has a foot box and a gear stash spot right next to your head. The mosquito netting top and double layer bottom keep the bugs at bay and it's easy to stay warm or cool depending on how you dress. Also because it's an asymetrical hammock, you don't have to sleep with your head and feet higher than your waist - you sleep pretty much flat. And no need to worry about finding a flat or dry spot - any two trees set anywhere from 13-20 feet apart, and you have your very own hanging hotel. I really liked it, but I only used it about 3 times. I also bought a kit to hang it indoors too that I'll include with the hammock. There is nothing wrong with it, and I have the buckle/webbing setup, not the whoopie slings so it makes it a ton easier to establish a proper hang angle. This is from the website: The Blackbird XLC is a larger upgraded version of the Blackbird, It has all the same standard features as the Blackbird such as choice of suspension, built-in bug netting, shelf/footbox, but in addition the XLC is about 12″ longer having a hammock body roughly 132″x 63″ with an overall length(ridgeline length) of 111″ which gives you about 11 inches of tarp overlap at each end of the hammock if using an eleven foot tarp. The XLC is rated for a user up to 7’0″. The netting is fully removable, you have the option to purchase an optional winter Topcover that can be used in place of the netting in winter time, the Topcover is a breathable fabric matching the hammock body, it will trap about 15 deg of heat compared to the outside air temps, so it is particularly useful for those that do lots of cold weather camping. Like the hammock fabric itself, the Topcover made of breathable fabric that has a DWR water “resistant” treatment, it will shed light moisture, but is not waterproof and is not a replacement for a tarp. The XLC is available in several fabric types and also with a single layer body or a double layer body, the double layer increases the weight capacity and is also recommended for anybody using a pad as bottom insulation, you place the pad between the 2 layers which helps hold the pad in place and keeps it from sliding around. The XLC features one continuous zipper that runs the perimeter of the hammock body, The XLC is converted into a simple Traveler-style hammock by simply removing the zippered top anytime it’s not needed.Like the standard Blackbird, the XLC includes the very popular storage shelf and footbox. The storage shelf is aprox. 2 square feet in size and great for small and med sized items (pair of shoes, water bottle, glasses etc). The XLC also includes a footbox which allows the user to fully use/extend the hammock fabric in the foot area without restriction from the netting, the result is maximum leg room. The hammock can be setup on the ground as a bug bivy if needed, just be sure to use a groundcloth to protect the bottom of the hammock from water and abrasion. The XLC comes with 2 elastic lines, one on each side of the hammock, these are used mainly to pull the netting out and away from the user, and to support the shelf, you can fully remove or leave these cords un-staked whenever it’s convenient, they are not required to use the hammock. All our hammock models come with your choice of suspension, “Webbing/Buckles A.K.A Adjustable Webbing Suspension” or “Whoopies with tree straps”. Check out our video section and look for the video titled “Hammock Suspension Differences” to see both these suspensions in action.
