We have scrutinised it & it is in completely original condition, no repairs or restoration & no damage whatsoever. It is a heavy piece, very well made, good quality & nothing is loose on it - it is very solid when held. It also has lots of age (although we don`t know what era it dates to, would gues circa 1900??)) as there is verdigree in nooks & crannies or corners/hard to clean places etc...
The two handles on the back of the base fold as they should, again not loosely or freely but firmly. All detachable parts unscrew as they should, none are damaged or threaded. The "pressure pump?" on the base pulls in & out, a thumb screw tap on the base turns as it should (it has SVEA stamped on it)
The perforated canopy that covers the flame??? has "SVEA MADE IN SWEDEN" stamped on it & it is without damage, a soild piece not thin metal. It slides over the curved metal stem/rod which is original to the piece as it has "MADE IN SWEDEN" stamped on it & this rod slides neatly into the receiving tube projecting upwards from the base.
The burner section?? which rests under the perforated canopy, unscrews neatly from the top of the base & has "SVEA" stamped on it too.
The large shield or deflector?? is in very good condition, not damage & not distorted & has the original rivets securely holding it to the two rods on the reverse of the shield (not wobbly & no movement in it when handled) These two rods look like they may pull out of the uprights in the base but we have not tried to remove them.
Lastly, when scrutinising the base of the petrol reservoir, the rim is perfectly round, no dinks & not distorted, there are no repairs to the base either, no solder & no rust or holes. The lamp/heater sits level on a flat surface, does not rock or wobble.
