Nice vintage EC Gillispie saddle. I have owned this saddle about 8 years and have used it for trails, starting colts and ponying babies. It has a lot of fender swing and you can get your legs in front. I have tried to do some research on Gillispie and I found a saddle attributed to him but stamped Rowell ranch out of Hayward California. It's a stout saddle that has more of a semi QH bar. Hubbard skirted and fully tooled. Fleece is real and in good shape. I had Monel stirrups on it but it'll sell with its original ones. Leather is in great shape, needs cleaning but not hurt at all. I was contacted by Mr.Gillispies niece and she confirmed he did work for Rowell Ranch Saddle shop in the 1950's. The saddle was made after his time at Rowell Ranch. He passed away in 1980. This is a great saddle from an accomplished maker. Please study the pictures as they were described the best. Ask any questions you might have before bidding as I do not offer returns.
