This is a RARE Coleman Centennial Lantern, Model 200B643J , which commemorates Coleman's 100th anniversary (1901-2001) and was made in Wichita Kansas USA. This model was marketed specifically Internationally to the Coleman Japanese market. This is one of two that I purchased on July 3, 2002 from the Coleman factory outlet, Wichita Kansas . The second one is being reserved for (S.C.) a long time International collector. I cannot verify but my understanding is that only 10.000 of this Japanese Centennial Lanterns were produced. The Lighting Instruction label on the fount states: Manufactured The Coleman Co, Inc., Wichita, KS 67219, USA. Imported by The Canadian Coleman Co., LTD., Toronto, Canada M8Z 2C6 290A410T. The label is in English, French and Spanish. While taking the photos I noticed and want you to know the lighting instruction label on the fount has a slight separation near the top and center as shown in the photos. This is exactly the way it was installed at the factory and none is missing and there is no lost lettering, simply part of the manufacturing process at Wichita. The lantern is NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX and was unpacked this week only so I could take the photos. The lantern and box have never been on display. They have been stored in a heated room inside a cardboard box that was sealed from any light penetration. The box is bright, crisp and clean. Please check the photos closely. The bottom of the fount is stamped with a 02 and 01 which dates its manufacture to February 2001 and it as well as verifying Wichita as its place of birth. The Centennial globe (Replacement Number R200-044J) depicts many of Coleman's logos used through the years including Coleman Quick-Lite, Coleman Deluxe Quick-Lite Lamp and Coleman Col-Max. The box shows a lantern with a red ventilator and gold label on the fount. This lantern has a Green ventilator and the only label on the fount is the Lighting Instructions is Green and in English, French and Spanish. I have no knowledge regarding the number of some special production runs that were made for the Centennial except it is well known that the International Coleman Collectors Club had a special run with special labels and green ventilators. The lantern is 12" Tall and the fount is 5 1/4" in diameter. The base rest has air holes that spell out "100 YR COLEMAN " This feature makes this lantern truly unique and dates its birth. Please take a good look at the pictures as they are part of the description. The box is in great condition with no fading or wear and will make a fantastic display. I will be happy to ship internationally. From a smoke free home, recycled shipping materials used, no returns.
