Gransfors Bruks Outdoor Axe is a small, general use hatchet. It is easily controlled with one hand. The Outdoor Axe can be used for chopping and splitting, and can serve as a knife. This is a great little hatchet that is usually overlooked by Gransfors lovers. The Outdoor Axe was developed in collaboration with Lars F?lt, a well known survival expert who has spent many years teaching the Swedish Military and has published numerous books. The objective was the creation of a tool that could fulfill many roles. It is excellent for limbing, the steel collar helps facilitate light splitting and the long handle enables enough power to fell trees. The hickory handle is 15 inches (38 cm) long. The overall weight is 1 pound, 5 ounces (590 gm). The face of the axe is 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) across, with a slight curvature. The blade is very sharp. The Collar Guard protects the handle
