A restored Bialaddin Bowl Fire heater lamp. All new seals fitted, pump washer and a non asbestos wick. Has its guard which is rare, they normally get lost or thrown away. Lit for 2 hrs today, nice seeing what you're buying actually working. These work on a fixed wire mantle, there's no fiddling with tie on mantles. A little tab of the red sign is missing at the bottom. The chrome has dull with age and the guard has some surface rust.These Bowl Fires retailed in 1953 at a whopping £4-7s-6p, that was half a mans wage ! Back then he also paid a crippling 47.5% income tax !!!....
