Outside of an Arc'teryx employee, there is probably nobody that knows more about the Naos model than we do. We have used these packs all over the world and can tell you, there is no other pack that can even come close to the quality, reliability, comfort and practicality of a Naos pack. Why it was discontinued (along with the Arrakis, Maia and Acrux lines) we do not know.... probably because they never wear out.
This pack comes with a 100% no questions asked full lifetime warranty against defect or workmanship.
In the unlikely event that part of this pack should wear out too quickly, simply call the manufacturer and they will instruct you how to send it to them for repair. We are heavily using Naos (and Arrakis) packs that are many years old and are having no trouble.
We measured the pack length (picture #7?) and we feel confident that this is a Regular sized pack for back sizes 18"-21".
This pack is 100% brand new ... never used. There are no scuffs and no scratches. All buckles and zippers are present and fully operational. The load transfer disc may someday require a little grease to keep it from squeaking and the pack comes with an envelope of such grease (in the lid).
The 85L Naos includes a long side zipper for side access to the pack body.... otherwise, you access the pack from the top.
Zippers are waterproof. The entire pack is waterproof. While hiking in the far north, a Naos pack saved my life when I stepped into a sinkhole at the end of a glacier runoff ... the river bottom was gone and I instantly sank up to my neck in freezing cold water. The pack, being waterproof, provided enough buoyancy for me to scramble out of the hole and onto firm ground.
