Benotigt zwei AAA-Batterien (nicht enthalten) Colour Name:reTrace Deluxe (weiß) reTrace - the digital tracker After a trip into the unknown, we are left with memories and photos - but how can we find our way back to these special places? Tracker and digital compass Celestron reTrace offers the perfect user-friendly solution, allowing you to find your way back to each place you have ever visited with the device. This handy piece of equipment works anywhere where it can receive a GPS signal. reTrace Deluxe - in two colours, with colour TFT screen for route display Whether you want to revisit particularly beautiful and hidden places in the woods that you discovered on a hike, need to find the right bay or hidden port for a boat trip or just want to find your way quickly back to the car or hotel in an unfamiliar city: Once you save a particular location, you'll always be able to find your way back. What could be easier? Just like the reasonably priced Lite version, the deluxe version provides important information such as the distance from the saved locations (in metres/km or yards/miles) or the coordinates, and has a powerful SiRFstar-III GPS receiver. The location is therefore found quickly, and the device is then ready for use. You can therefore switch it off when not needed in order to save power, and don't have to wait a long time for a GPS signal. The display has a back light, meaning that the reTrace works well even at night. And rain is not a problem either: The device is pressure-jet protected as per IPX6. A spring clip and soft case are also included with the delivery. The reTrace devices are powered by two standard AAA batteries (not included). If the power ever runs out, it's easy to find replacement batteries and there is no need to first recharge the batteries or find any particular special batteries. A battery pack lasts for approximately six to eight hours in continuous operation, and the battery level indicator will let you know in good time if a replacement is due. The deluxe version offers additional interesting features compared to the Lite version, such as a colour LCD screen and the option of recording routes. It also has a mini-USB port for data transfer to the PC, and indicates the air pressure, temperature, altitude and the exact time - the latter to the nearest second thanks to the GPS satellites. The reTrace deluxe presents the information on a 46 mm colour TFT screen. In trail mode, it stores the path, or also shows the previous route as a "breadcrumb trail", rather than just indicating the direction and distance from the destination. Up to 20 locations can be stored, and the USB cable enables you to transfer your saved locations to the PC and to find them on Google Maps. reTrace Deluxe in use reTrace Deluxe as a digital compass At the start, the colour TFT screen on the reTrace Deluxe firstly shows a digital compass. As with a conventional compass, the needle always points north, but you can also press a button to display the current coordinates - i.e. longitude and latitude, which is very handy when Geocaching, for example. The exact time (to the second thanks to the GPS satellites) is always displayed above the compass rose, along with the number of satellites within range (left) and the charge level of the batteries (right). The reTrace Deluxe Trail mode indicates the route that you have taken to reach your destination, the direction you are currently going in, and the distance to the destination in a straight line. To save a point of interest (POI) at which you are currently located, just select one of the twenty memory locations in the device. So that you don't just need to remember the number, you can also allocate a symbol to the location - there are plenty to choose from. When you have added a location, the display changes, and the compass indicates the distance and direction of the saved location. To use the reTrace as a tracker, just open one of the "bookmarks" and the device will show you the direction arrow and the distance to the destination. The distance given here is the distance in a straight line; depending on the terrain, you may have a slightly longer way to go. A special feature of the reTrace Deluxe is the trail mode. This feature can be used in two different ways. If you go to a saved location, you will see on the display the route that you have travelled so far, and what detours have been necessary so far (on the right-hand side of the screen). The route is not saved, but presented as extra info as long as you are still moving. Display of temperature, altitude and air pressure development Alternatively, you can also record your route. You can set the time intervals between the data points; the location can be recorded every few seconds or just once every hour. This allows you to cover a period of 14-50,000 hours depending on the desired temporal resolution. In Trail mode, not only are the location and time recorded, but also the temperature, altitude and air pressure, meaning that even routes through unknown terrain can be tracked precisely. The acquired data is not "locked" in the device, but can be re-used. The supplied USB cable can be used to import the data it into the software (for MS Windows) and display it in the maps by Google Maps, enabling you to accurately track your route at a later date, whether you were out and about in a city or in the mountains. Of course, the temperature (in °C or °F), air pressure and altitude (in feet or metres) can also be displayed while on the move. In addition to the current value, the air pressure development is also presented in the form of a clear diagram; the measurement intervals can be set to every 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. This gives you a quick overview of whether the air pressure is rising or falling, which can be a valuable indication of a change in the weather, particularly when hiking.
