Wide Tree Tucker Competitor Endurance Saddle, Model 151. Seat size is 16.5 (18 inch English equivalent). The saddle is a gorgeous brown with EBR Buckle tie rigging, Round Skirt, "Plantation" style Fenders, EBS trail glide stirrups, Rope Edge Conchos, ventilating seat covers with Tucker Shock Absorbing seat. Weight is 22 lbs without stirrups. A Professional Choice "SMx VenTech" Straight Cinch 34" is included.Very comfortable saddle, bought new in 2015 for our 18 year old Trakehner retired dressage lesson horse, given to us by a friend . We used it only about 10 hours with him before he retired completely from riding . We are selling it only because it is too small for our current horses who are draft breeds and require even wider trees! How wide is the saddle gullet in inchs?
I have added photos of the width of the saddle. It is difficult to get precise information at the Tucker site and also at saddle shops on exactly where to measure them to show the size of the trees. We have not measured at the front edge. Also there are no screws showing on the underside of the saddle to use as markers as suggested on some sites on measuring gullet width. Therefore, we have used the stitching lines on the attached wool fleece on the underside of the saddle. It is 6.0 inches across when aligned with the top of the conchos and 7 when aligned at the bottom of the conchos. I can take more measurements if you tell me where you want them positioned. Here is some more information on Tucker Tree widths gleaned from the web.
Our saddle was made in 2012 and is a wide. A 2011 youtube video shows Jim (the then owner of the company) showing that the medium tree is 90 degrees. So the bar angle of our wide is greater than 90 degrees. Some information from 2009 on the web says the Wide has a 7" Gullet and the bars are 93 degrees.I have had it on my 16 hand very wide freisian gelding who takes a wide extra wide saddle but it was rideable on him for short periods of time. It is also rideable for short periods on our draft paint cross who also actually requires a wide extra wide saddle. There is a site online with information on common tree widths that also contains a video that also shows how to fit a saddle, and they are using a saddle like the one I have for sale. It is called: western-saddle-fitting-tree-sizesThe saddle is very comfortable to ride and gives good stability to the rider. I do not feel the stirrup fenders at all. There are latigos on both sides. One is off in the picture but it is here and I will send it with the saddle. It is the same as the one showing on the picture of the other side of the saddle . There are web videos available showing how the Euro rigging works. The saddle has always been stored in our climate controlled house.Additional pictures available on request.Shipping Cost are based on your location. Please open shipping costs and put in your zip code to get an accurate estimate. Pick up also available.
