These are rare to come by, and certainly not for this price - new saddles can go for over $5,000 - and for good reason, Childeric is one of the best saddle makers in the world.
The leather is in good condition, thick and soft. This saddle still has many many good years left in it. The leather in Childeric saddles is top quality, so it keeps it's softness and with normal care will never resemble one of those hard old creaky saddles!
Childeric saddles are all handcrafted and are part the group I consider the top elite french saddle manufacturers : Butet, Devoucoux, CWD, Antares, and Delgrange. My opinion (although I know many other professionals who agree with me) is that these brands manufacture the best luxury saddles in the world. Childeric saddles are known for their great fit, and incomparable comfort.
I live in France, and am selling this saddle from here (even though I was not able to put in the correct postal code in my listing). I have a long experience shipping saddles, and will send it well packed and insured. have sold numerous saddles on ebay, and have always had very satisfied customers. I will ship anywhere :) I do not accept returns unless the item was not as described, so please know your size in Childeric saddles before bidding and carefully read the description!
This gem of a monoflap saddle is in good used condition. The leather is in wonderful condition, thick, soft and grippy – look at the pictures! The flaps are doubled in calf. The edges of the seat show slight rubbing, there is a tiny snip on the front gullet, some scratches on the cantle and a small flaw close to the rear part of the seat (all pictured, and all of these are cosmetic flaws without any effect on useability). Otherwise the pictures speak for themselves:) It comes with a saddle cover. Numbers under the flap are as follows (see picture): 2 CFE 175 330 04 Size is a true 17.5″. The tree of this saddle is standard (4.5 inches).
