Description
Brand: Jim Taylor Saddlery Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

This is a 15-1/2" team roping saddle made by Jim Taylor Saddlery, in Texas. Jim Taylor is this generation's Billy Cook of the 60's and 70's! This saddle is in great shape and is very well made! The fleece on the bottom has a quarter size rub shown in the picture! There is a burn and scuffing to the horn leather as depicted in the photo, which is pure cosmetic and not seen when the horn is rubber wrapped! Both are minor cosmetic blemishes! It is a wood/bull hide reinforced roping tree with semi-quarter horse bars that fit 90% of today's modern quarter horses! The stirrup leathers have a reinforced strip of leather where the holes are punched to prevent hollowing out the holes over time. This is a very heavy duty roping saddle!  I won this saddle, in 1999, and it has been used sparingly as you can see by the shape that it's in for it's age! The best USTRC saddles made and won over the years are the earlier Jim Taylor's! They are very comfortable for both the horse and the rider!! After 40 years of roping, I'm starting to slow down and have numerous roping items that I will be selling, some won and some purchased. The best advice that my father ever gave me was, "If you buy quality first it lasts for ever! If you buy cheap you will replace it enough times to where it costs more!" This saddle always got the job done, is comfortable to ride for both you and just about any horse you throw it on, and is flashy without being gaudy! No reserve, I'm selling it!
