As the official charity sponsor of the IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta event, The Scott Rigsby Foundation program, Operation IRONFREEDOM, enables ill and injured, highly deployed and family members of fallen Warriors to regain their health and wellness as they transition home from military service. We are auctioning 2 (two) Charity Bibs to the 2017 IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and the winning bids will go to support this program!Winning bidders will be contacted to obtain your personal information for the official registration link from the World Triathlon Corporation (IRONMAN).
The 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The championship race will be a two-day event with the professional and age-group women racing on Saturday, September 9 and the professional and age-group men racing on Sunday, September 10.Known throughout the Southeastern U.S. as the Scenic City due to its proximity to Lookout Mountain, striking riverfront and vibrant downtown, Chattanooga lures athletes with its dramatic backdrop, idyllic weather, and low-key southern charm. Already host to annual IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events, Chattanooga provides a fast course with a swim in the Tennessee River. Four bridges cross the river over the swim and a pedestrian Riverwalk runs along the entire swim course making it ideal for spectators. Chattanooga is full of attractions, eclectic dining spots and great places to stay.
In 2007, Scott Rigsby became the first double amputee in the world to complete the IRONMAN World Championship on prosthetic legs. To expand his mission worldwide, Rigsby formed The Scott Rigsby Foundation, a 501(c)(3), with a mission to inspire, inform and enable the people with disabilities to live an active lifestyle. Our primary objective is to provide health and wellness programs for individuals with disabilities to encourage positive lifestyle change and promote personal empowerment. Through our efforts, we also inspire able-bodied adults and youth to pursue improved fitness as a means of preventing disease and loss of limb and mobility. The Scott Rigsby Foundation motivates individuals to set goals and cross their own personal finish lines. We challenge people to “Do the Unthinkable.” Learn more about Scott and the Foundation at .
