Salomon has combined the lightweight, stability and fit of Quest, add a full-grain leather upper combined with retro-style to create a premium mountain boot that looks as great as it works.
Upper - Full grain leather/Gore-tex Take on the trail with efficiency and style thanks to Salomon's Quest Origins 2 Gore-Tex Walking Boots. Constructed from a Full grain leather material, the durable construction allows for longer wear and durability on rugged terrains. Its High-cut profile increases ankle support, stability and protection, which is further shown with in the rearfoot heel cap and forefoot toecap for further protection from sharp rocks and roots. Working in unison with the Full grain composition, Sensifit system works to cradle the foot providing a precise and secure fit. It holds the foot in place and is designed to work with the lacing system to cradle the foot from the midsole through to the lacing - providing a stable, precise, snug fitting. It is also moulded into the shoe and bonded with the upper to reduce components, excess bulk and weight, whilst improving comfort on the trail. More protection is available in the form of a gusseted tongue, The material bridge connects tongue to the upper eliminating debris from entering the shoe. The main bodily features of the Quest Origins 2 Gore-Tex Walking Boots is it's Gore-Tex's Extended Comfort Footwear membrane. This is guaranteed to keep you dry and offers an extended range of comfort. Engineered to be used during high output activities, Salomon use GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear in their adventure racing and mountain running footwear where superior waterproof protection and enhanced breathability are essential. Other features of the upper include an abrasion resistant lining that allows for excellent breathability and quick drying properties, Protective material all around the base of the shoe which helps further reduce wear and tear. Midsole - Injected EVA Offering supportive comfort whilst retaining a lightweight embodiment the midsole utilises a dual fusion of Salomon's proprietary compressed EVA and injected EVA. Forming a differentiating density - a denser foam to prevent medial collapse and a lightweight EVA for smooth cushioning and gait cycle transitioning. The format assists with keeping weight down and maximising responsive underfoot cushioning. Internally the Quest Origins 2 utilises an EVA moulded sock liner, the sock-liner combines a specific Ortholite foam and an EVA heel cup. Ortholite foam creates a cooler, drier, healthier, better-cushioned environment under the foot. It will not break down or lose effectiveness over time. Recycled tire content to protect the environment. EVA heel cups allows for a better heel support and added cushioning.
