This is a very unique Syd Hill Bushman Endurance genuine Australian Saddle. I have seen many Syd Hills and have never seen one like this. It has a super secure, deep 17" suede seat and sits close to a 15 western. It has hardly been used at all. It has a few minor scratches but overall it's in beautiful condition. The poleys are angled back more than normal, to keep you in the saddle.
It comes with everything, and it's ALL Syd Hill, including roughout fenders, overgirth, leather stirrups, (which slide easily off the stirrup bars in case of a fall and being dragged) and even a nearly new beautiful Syd Hill girth, which alone is nearly impossible to find. The quality of this saddle and accessories is amazing and it was all handcrafted. The leather is highest quality.
There are a few tiny holes in the Serge that won't affect a thing but wanted to point it out. The Serge itself is very clean and pliable and soft. The color isn't as red as some photos appear.It is a pretty brown with brass hardware.
If you spend time breaking horses to ride or just spend lots of time on trails this saddle is wonderful. It will last many generations.Syd Hill is no longer in business but is well known as one of the best saddle makers in Australia. This saddle would have been well over $3000 to have made, plus accessories and import.
It is rough and tough enough for a man, yet pretty enough for a woman. With fenders and stirrups it weighs 30 pounds, and the fenders and stirrups make up 4.5 pounds of that. If you replaced the fenders with English leathers and used lighter stirrups you could save some weight.
