Kershaw 4040 Ruby 40th Anniversary Knife
*** ZDP-189 premium blade steel ****** KVT ball-bearing system ****** Titanium handle ***Knife is new in box and ready to ship. From what I understand, these sold out pretty quickly. This one is serial number 468. It has only been handled and flipped a few times, so the worst it shows are a couple finger prints - no other wear as it was never actually used or carried. The only other thing to note is the slight tear on the box - came to me that way. Literally millions of them. That's why, to celebrate our first 40 years, we wanted to to create a very special knife. So, for our "ruby" anniversary, we created the Kershaw Ruby, model 4040. The Ruby features ZDP-189 premium blade steel, an extremely high-carbon, high-chromium steel. It is very hard and offers excellent edge retention and toughness. The blade is DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated, then laser etched with sweeping lines and our commemorative 40 Years logo.The handle is titanium, DLC coated, then satin-polished and etched with our new logo (the first new one in 40 years). The Ruby is a frame lock knife with a hardened steel lockbar insert for durabiliy. The Ruby opens with the built-in flipper and our KVT ball-bearing opening system.
