For those not familiar with the Primus burner, it works by the jet squirting fuel onto the underside of the hot burner to vaporise it and lighting from cold needs practice and as with most petrol it does not run well at low heat outputs.For those like myself who favour the Trangia system, this is an excellent alternative for use in sub-zero conditions, when gas does not work and you want more heat output than using the standard alcohol burner - which it will also burn.Purchasers are likely to be adding to their existing collection of lightweight camping equipment, a sit is not suitable for beginners.For newcomers to Trangia cooking, the alternative gas burner, as made by Primus, is a cheaper more suitable first step away from using the alcohol burner."
