Estimated price for orientation: 305 $
Category: Flashlights
Class:
Description Brand: NITECORE Features: Handheld, Waterproof, With Wrist Strap Model: TM16GT MPN: TM16GT XHP-35 Lightbulb Type: XHP-35 LED
You read correctly. This incredible light has four Cree XHP-35 HI (high intensity, no dome) LED Emitters (Color temperature 5000K)! Built with a custom 12V FET driver from Mountain Electronics. I built this one for a buddy who has since backed out because he is unable to afford it. Max output ~7000-7500 lumens
Intensity ~350Kcd This purchase Includes:
- Nitecore TM16GT w/ (4) Cree XHP-35 LEDs
- Lanyard
- Extra O-rings LEDs are mounted on Noctigon copper MCPCBs with direct thermal path. They are mounted using premium Arctic Silver thermal adhesive for superior heat dissipation. This light requires (4) high quality 18650 lithium ion batteries (not included). Unprotected high drain cells, or cells with higher amperage protection circuits, are required. The protection circuit is likely to be tripped with typical protected cells because of the higher amperage demanded by the LEDs. I strongly recommend using the new LG 3500mAh cells. They are some of the best batteries available today. BE SURE TO AVOID ANY POOR QUALITY CELLS! IF YOU'RE UNSURE PLEASE ASK:)The stock driver is also included with this purchase.OPERATION (Also explained below): Both buttons on the light do the same thing. A brief button push turns the light on (to the last used mode or off) or off. Access to both moonlight and turbo are available immediately from the off position. Push and hold from off for moonlight. Double click for Turbo. Push and hold to change modes while the light is on. The light is currently programmed to mode group 11, and I've set the turbo timer according to the heat produced.
Note: Because this is a very high powered light, it should not be left on the highest output modes unattended. The light can be run on Turbo until the head becomes too hot to hold, and then it needs to be stepped down to allow it to cool. The turbo timer is currently set to step down ~30 seconds after startup. Timer is adjustable (see below).
The driver is programmable. If you'd like to reprogram the light for a different brightness settings, please follow the instructions below (from Mountain Electronics website) You can also adjust or eliminate the Turbo Timer: moppydrv Multi-Group Electronic Switch Firmware Option This firmware allows the ultimate in user customizability, with 16 built-in mode groups, that the user can select via a series of button presses and a user programmable turbo timer that will automatically step the power down to 50% after the set time is hit (see below for instructions). A short tap switches the light on to the previously used mode, or off if the light is already on.
A press & hold while the light is on cycles through the modes in the selected mode group.
A press & hold while the light is off switches the light on in the first mode of the selected group.
A double-click from either off or on puts the light into the special designated mode in that particular mode group.
To switch mode groups: rapidly tap the switch 8 times from either off or on. The light will then enter the programming mode and begin to flash, reading out the battery charge state. With the light in programming mode, tap the switch the same number of times as your desired mode group. The light will blink and your mode group will be memorized. Example: To select mode group 3, tap the switch 8 times quickly to enter programming mode. When the light enters programming mode and beings flashing, tap the switch three times. The light will blink to recognize the mode group change. To set the turbo timer: rapidly tap the switch 8 times. The light will then enter the programming mode and begin to flash. With the light in programming mode, tap the switch 20 times to enter the turbo timer set mode. The light will then switch to 100% power. When the light is at the desired temperature for the turbo step down, turn the light off. The turbo timer will then be set. The turbo timer steps the light down to 50% regardless of the mode group set. To disable the turbo timer, simply set the time to under 4 seconds. Please feel free to ask questions. Please pay within 3 days of auctions end. Shipping to lower 48 states only. Thanks!
