Describe your product in 3 words. Lightweight, Portable, Powerful How did you come up with the idea for this product? While working as an instructor at Art Center College of Design, our CCO noticed that many of his students and coworkers using public transportation needed a solution for covering the “last mile” between transit stations and their final destinations. It didn’t take long to see that the problem was global; people in urban areas everywhere needed a vehicle that was compact, versatile, and easy to use. What makes your product special? URB-E combines a lot of good ideas into one great idea. We took a need for versatile personal transportation and mixed it with sustainability, safety and design in a way no other company has. The result: the world’s most compact foldable electric vehicle, and the only vehicle on the market that’s both sustainable and practical, lightweight and durable, professional and fun. What has been the best part of your startup experience? URB-E is a team of perfectionists, which means that designing and engineering multiple prototypes was an incredibly rewarding process. The greatest challenge turned out to be developing a supply chain that was able to produce mass amounts of our final design consistently and safely. Luckily, our team is both resilient and committed to meeting its own high standards.
