Waterproof durable GORE-TEX® Pro alpine pants. Product Description Technical waterproof bib featuring the new Gore-Tex Pro membrane for mountaineering activities in the roughest conditions. Haglöfs' Roc Hard Bib is a rugged, waterproof sleeve-less bib, conceived to face the roughest conditions, be it cold, wind, snow or all at once. A very thoughful design to achieve the best protection against the elements. One of its outstanding features is the rugged and advanced fabrics it is made of, making this one of the most robust bib available. They're a great choice for expeditions, rock/ice climbing, technical mountaineering, freeride, professional use and, generally, the most demanding outdoor activities. It features the newest and latest fabric, Gore-Tex Pro, which is lighter, waterproof and has increased breathability in up to 28%. Thus, some Gore-Text Pro garments parallel Gore-Tex Active in breathability, although they stand out in sturdyness and durability. Properties of the new Gore-Tex Pro fabric: same level of waterproofness, higher breathability and lighter in weight. Thickness is minimal, what implies a common standard among fabrics when it comes to sturdyness and durability. Its construction is very similar to its previous version, but outer fabrics are similar in thickness/weight so that all garments (different brands and models) have similar durability in the end. This bib is one of the exceptions that are made in even stronger fabrics. The inner fabric that lines this all new Gore-Tex Pro is RipStop nylon. This way, resistance is improved without making much of a difference to the eye -a smart improvement! What really has changed significantly in Gore-Tex Pro is the membrane itself, the very laminated layer that lays between the outer fabric and the lining. In the old 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell, the membrane was formerly a single sheet with a bicomponent reinforcement that increased durability although it also clearly impaired breathability… Now, with Gore-Tex Pro, the membrane itself has been improved to be much more rugged. Therefore no bicomponent reinforcement needs to be applied and breathability is not so much affected. This way, breathability has been increased in up to 28%, without sacrificing waterproofness. The high durability and resistance of Gore -Tex Pro fabric remains unchanged. To achieve this level without the bicomponent reinforcement, the old single layer of membrane same has been replaced by multiple layers of membrane, thus increasing durability and resistance of the fabric. Weight has also been reduced by supressing this bicomponent reinforcement. "Here at Vèrtic we've been intensively testing the propotypes of the new models with Gore-Tex Pro during the last year and we're happy to say the results are excellent. Waterproofness and durability remain the same, although breathability has been clearly improved and a weight also slightly reduced. We've been testing it for months now, and you can really tell the difference". Specifically designed for the roughest conditions. The fact that this is a sleeveless full bib (instead of just straps), makes this a great garment offering outstanding protection against the elements. Of course this is why it is also heavier.
